What to Expect
When you join us on campus for a Front Row lecture, you’ll experience science like never before. You’ll hear directly from our world-renowned scientists as they step out of the lab and onto the stage to share their discoveries and the impact they could make on human health.
Can’t make it to campus? No worries! We livestream every lecture for thousands of people around the globe, and all previous lecture recordings are available at frontrow.scripps.edu/lectures/all-lectures.
Agenda
- 3:45 p.m. — Registration opens, livestream begins
- 4:00 p.m. — Lecture begins
- 4:45 p.m. — Live Q&A with our speaker
- 5:00 p.m. — Livestream ends
- 5:00 p.m. — Reception
- Complimentary bites and beverages provided
- Interactive Science in Action stations open
- 6:00 p.m. — Event concludes
Following the lecture
At the end of the lecture, you’ll have the opportunity to ask your own questions during a brief Q&A session. We take questions from both in-person and virtual attendees and try to get through as many as possible.
In person guests are invited to a courtyard reception featuring complimentary bites and beverages. Mix and mingle with fellow attendees and Scripps Research scientists and stop by our Science in Action stations. Staffed by graduate students and postdoctoral scholars from the speaker’s lab, Science in Action brings you even closer to the research with hands-on activities, exciting demonstrations, and opportunities to engage directly with the research team.
Parking and arrival
Upon arrival, check in with your name to receive a name badge. Registration is encouraged in advance due to limited space, but tickets are not required for check-in. Walk-ups are welcome. Complimentary parking is available at the garage adjacent to the Scripps Research Auditorium, located at 10332 John Jay Hopkins Drive.
Driving directions: From I-5, exit at Genesee Avenue and travel west. Turn right onto John Jay Hopkins Drive. At the first stop sign, turn left into the Scripps Research Parking Garage driveway. Once parked, follow event signage down the ramps to the Scripps Research Auditorium.
